Kawasaki N400

The 399cc Kawasaki Ninja 400 looks like a very interesting bike. About 30% more power, about the same weight, and a reputation of solid reliability.

Has anyone done a test ride and able to compare the 400 to either of the G310's?

Thanks

ps The "Stop Sale" is making me look at alternatives.

The black version does look quite nice, bit more power, abs, but it's a 'race' bike, so might have higher insurance costs. Depends on what you're after, I would consider this if I was after a race bike in this price category.

I haven't ridden the new 400, but have otherwise ridden or owned all the beginner class sportbikes at some point. At the moment, I have a BMW G310R and a Honda CB300F. From what I've read though, I honestly don't think the Ninja 400 really compares to anything else in or near it's class. It's that good....power, weight, handling, brakes, reliability, price, etc.

Agreed with everyone so far. I also looked at it once the stop sale happened. Was looking at the blue but it's just way too much blue this time. The KRT would be my next choice. It really is in a different class from the G310R.

@HPP8140 , oh man a naked version would be awesome.

@snowboarder1493 Which do you prefer, the G310R or CB300F?

@sunster I think they're kind of both good in their own ways. The BMW is faster and I like the suspension better, but it definitely has some quirks. The BMW revs nice and quickly, but the Honda doesn't feel so tinny like the bimmer plus the transmission/clutch and brakes are worlds better. I also feel like the Honda actually vibrates less. Both good bikes I think, just slightly different.

Thanks, i really think i'm going to have to go with an alternative instead of waiting for the stop sale to end.

It's 101 outside today, so I went to the local M/C dealers to see what they have. The Ninja 400 feels very comfortable, I am 6'. It is about the same size as the G310R.

The dealer also had several Ninja 300 (replaced by the 400cc this year), and they are selling the 300cc for $2,945! That's what a 150cc scooter goes for.

So what did you end up getting? If you go with the 300, try to get the Winter Edition it is the most updated and has the 150 rear vs the 140

They have launched in India as well at very competitive pricing but again it's not adventure bike, never bothered to look at it.
