Looking for side bags, suggestions?

I'm new to the forum. I've looked through threads about luggage and it's not apparent how the side bags clear the turn signals. The SW-Motech Sysbag System and Shad look interesting, however I'm not finding photos of the bags mounted on a 310r. Has anyone installed these bag systems and how do they work with the turn signals?

Thanks for insights.

You might want to replace your indicators with non US(i.e. shorter) led indicators, you should be able to get a set (4) on ebay for around $50.

Correct, the USA ones are too long. See my post on this subject.

Also, if you plan get the Hepco & Becker and plan to add the G310GS rear top luggage carrier, the C-Bow brackets are different. I found that out after I bought the luggage rack and installed it where I already had the Hepco & Becker saddle bags. The saddle bags do not clear the side on the rack. So I am currently working on a fix to move them out enough to clear. The GS seems to have the C-Bow brackets on a different angle and more forward. So just a warning if you plan to do this, get the GS C-Bow brackets because $200 is allot to fix a mistake.

I didn't buy yet but I will buy one of the below 2. I think Woodworks has the endusristan and looks super cool on the GS. https://www.g310rforum.com/forum/241-...ey-g310gs.html

Enduristan: Blizzard Saddle Bags

I JUST picked up a G310R today, and when I brought up sidebags as something I want to get soon, they didn't flinch in suggesting the SW-Motech with the Urban ABS boxes for the G310R - which I believe uses the same SLC bars as the SysBag setup.

I'd be interested in hearing from your experience if you go forward with the SW-Motech, as it's been a toss-up for me between those and the Hepco&Becker C-Bow. Please keep us updated!

Hi K9vic - forgive my confusion - are you saying the BMW GS rear luggage rack and applicable C-bow fittings and luggage will fit the 310R? I have the 310GS and am looking at the C-bow system, but may want to switch to a 310R soon (lighter, lower seat).

The factory BMW luggage rack is designed to work on both the GS and R, it is stock on the GS. A local dealer here adds the luggage rack and a BMW top box as an available option kit on their G310R.

What I am saying is their is a C-Bow brackets for the GS and one for the R, two different part numbers and styles of how the bags mount to the C-Bow to clear the luggage rack. If you go to the R, you have to either do what I did with 1" spacers, or get the GS C-Bow brackets. The C-Bow brackets fit onto the luggage rack bolts, or on the R those handles. So it will work, but you have the issues I noted.

The Hepco & Becker hard saddle bags are very expensive, but they look the best IMHO. I have never been a fan of soft bags, I want the durability of the hard case.

Images show the shorter turn signals, I went back to the correct longer ones the USA models get.

You may want to look at GIVI USA. The PL5126 Monokey mount and fairly large selection of boxes. I personally think 33 litre side boxes are as large as I will go. I am not a top box fan myself.

I have the Hepco Becker bags but they aren't the hard ones and also the luggage rack with a topcase on it. I didn't do anything with the turn signals and they work fine. I do have to remove the bag to get the key in the seat for removal. I think the bags were $200 and the c bow mount was also $200. I don't recall how much the luggage rack was and I just had an old JC Whitney top case that i put on and works great. I don't have a photo of it with the top case.
