Won’t having knobs on the inside of your case just take up valuable space and make fitting things in there problematic? FWIW, I used pan head bolts mounted over a sandwich of fender and rubber washers, covered by a thin rubber mat for an almost flat interior, with nylok nuts in the bottom recesses of the rack.

Yeah, probably LOL. I ordered some knobs from Amazon and will see what it's like when I get them. I'm also wondering if I should add am aluminum plate inside for rigidity.

Here's where I am so far with this. I switched out the bolts for 1 1/4 yellow zinc bolts and added a lock washer. I put down the nut then a 3/4 washer followed by a 3/4 runner washer from the faucet repair aisle. It's a strong rubber with a 1/8 ID that I drilled out to 3/16 so it will stay tightly on without the case in place. All it it's about $6 worth of hardware.

Drilled holes in the case to match the bolt pattern, 3/4 washer inside and a nut to lock it down. When the knobs come I'll see about space, right now is takes no space at all. But I do wonder about flex/cracking in the case, that's where I thought about using an aluminum piece to reinforce inside.

I think you’ll be fine as is. I did a similar mount on a CRF250L with a plain “tube” rack using u-bolts, with the threads up, going into the case like you have. Used a Duratool case, about the same size. It’s been off road and bounced around hard with the case filled with some tools, extra fuel bottle, water, etc. The case is fine after 3 years - permanent mount. Strangely, I did lose the case handle on one ride! But the case is fine with no signs of cracking or fatigue. YMMV of course...
