G310 GS Side stand placement

Good afternoon everyone,

Does any other short-riders feel that the side stand is place a bit too far behind the foot peg when folded completely? i.e. sometimes it is quite difficult to locate the side stand with your feet? and that little 'round thing' that sticks out doesn't really help much with deploying the side stand?

Any suggestions of making it more reachable?

I don't mind that as I'm sure the spring will weaken after a few years use. At least you know it's not going to start flopping around and activating your switch to kill the engine!

Is it safe to climb onto the bike with it on the side stand.
I too am a short @r$e and have a tendency to smack my right knee on the rear carrier rack as i am getting my leg over.

Hereís the problem I have trying to mount the bike by standing on the foot peg (which I believe IS the correct way to mount an adventure bike!)
Iíve said before that the standard sidestand is LONG, and that on its own , the bike had very little lean angle! What happens when you then add your weight onto the left peg is that the soft suspension compresses, which lowers the bike a few cm (maybe 3/4Ē) which in effect pushes the bike even MORE upright and could possibly (depending how aggressively you mount) actually tip it over the other way!!!
I knew my geometry lessons would come in handy one day :-)

I also noticed that the GS is extremely upright (compared to the R) when I had one as a loaner. I would want a slightly shorter side stand if I got the GS.
