2018 310GS top speed & overheating
Just purchased a 2018 310GS with 500 miles on it as a nice addition to my R1200S and little TW-200. The bike is in perfect condition, except.....
I can't get the bike much over 77mph and to keep it at that speed I have to keep the throttle wide open. Then the bike starts to over heat (250+degrees F) and warning lights come on. The bike also runs 220+ degrees F when rowing through the gears for any given amount of time on back roads and around town and warning lights come on.
I was under the impression based on all my research including what I've read here the bike should be good for at least another 10mph and to hold 75, WOT shouldn't be necessary, let alone the high temps I'm seeing. 85 degrees F outside temp here. All this leads me to believe the bike is not pulling up to its capability at non-highway speeds as well.
My dealer is telling me all of the above is normal and the bike checks out properly.
