SW-Motech Skid Plate- what crash bars fit?

Just installed a SW-Motech skid plate on my '19 GS. I was going to order their engine crash bars but appears they don't also offer upper fairing protection should I choose to add that later. So I'm concerned if I go with their engine crash bars a different brand of upper won't work.

Anyone using the SW-Motech Skid plate with different brand(s) engine & upper bars?

Thanks
Dan

Hepco & Becker have crash bars and Tank protection which only fits together. I have also SW-Motech Crash bars and looking at the instructions of Hepco and Becker they only fit with their own crash bars.
Maybe someone else has a solution for it. I will be interested in it as well.

Here is a post I did sometime ago on crash bar options that you might find useful...

https://www.g310rforum.com/forum/194...iled-look.html

I went with the Hepco and Becker - really like but I did have some difficulties with getting the upper guard to fit - if your bike has the variances a couple of spacers will fix the problem...
https://www.g310rforum.com/forum/194...additions.html

I'm now in the market for a skid plate and from what I can gather the SW-Motech skid plate (which I really like) will fit with the Hepco and Becker engine guards. Here's a thread on the combo... https://www.g310rforum.com/forum/194...tion-bars.html

From what I can gather is that the cheaper skid plates connect on the bottom with only four connection points like the factory piece of crap plastic. They protect the oil filter with an additional housing protection around the filter. Still very prone to damage.

Better skid plates like the SW-Motech have six connection points with the top two connecting to the engine. The skid plate is all one piece and protects the oil filter. In order to give the top two connection points strength there is a flange/bracket that attached directly to the bike. If these connection points are the same points of your chosen crash bars then they will likely not fit.

I think Focus Frenzy has the Hepco Becker engine guard with the SW Motech Skid Plate. He might be able to shed some light on the fit.

Hope this helps.

Hey Gtown, I had read (several times) you're most excellent post with all the protection options. Very well done.

The balance of the info you've provided above is exactly what I was looking for, not sure how I missed it. Unless someone is using the SW-Motech engine bars with another manufacturer's tank bars I'll go the Hepco route for both of those.

Thanks again
Dan
