Hi From Manchester, England.
I have had my G310R for a month now and think its a great bike. Here"s my bike history. Yamaha FS1e , Suzuki TS100, Kawasaki GPZ305, Honda VFR 750, Suzuki GSXR 600 , Triumph Speed Triple, Suzuki DR350, KTM 600 , BMW R80 . Been fast, been off road, been uphill and down dale. Dont need to go supersonic anymore and the G310R suits me fine for sunday morning rides out in the country where it hits its sweet spot in the twisties. It reminds me most of the power delivery and power and riding position of the Suzuki DR350 , but tracks round bends on rails . The finish of the bike is good and it is very comfortable . Shortly after purchase I noticed a coolant leak/drip from the pipe underneath the oil filter when I switched the bike off , and the level dropping to the minimum. I took the bike to BMW Manchester as it is under warranty and they were very helpful and have replaced the seals in the water pump . They filled me full of free coffee the G310R, and gave me a R9T to ride whist they carried out the repair ! This bike I would describe as a traffic light dragster ! While riding this I noted that it didnt go round corners anywhere near as good as the G310R and wasnt as good in the busy city. You need to make the G310R work to get the best out of it, but that is what biking is about these days , not 200mph missiles that you cannot push the limits of. So from me its a big thumbs up for this bike, its massive fun.. Its also a big thumbs up for BMW Manchester, whose cheerful and friendly staff are a credit to the company. Stevo.
