BMW G310R at the 2016 Bangkok International Motor Show

More photos of the bike at the Bangkok International Motor Show

Quote:

"The G310R will be produced in South India for local supply as well for all international markets.

The BMW G310R is powered by an all-new backward-tilted 313 cc single-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling and DOHC, mated to a six-speed transmission. The motor produces 34 hp (25 kW) at 9,500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7,500 rpm. The motorcycle is based on a new tubular steel chassis suspended by an Up-Side Down fork and a monoshock on an aluminium swingarm. It weighs 158.5 kg and gets a 300 mm disc brake at front with four-piston radially-mounted caliper and 240 mm disc brake at the rear with two-piston floating caliper."

I originally wanted the white color, now seeing more photos of the blue one, I'm in love with it.

going to be hard attaching a windshield to that cluster unit, at least I don't see any mounting points for one

I'm sure the aftermarket can come up with something that encases the head unit or goes around it. How would it be mounted? I don't know because I don't see any mounting points either.

Are there any aftermarket companies on the forum that you could ask?

It's still too early because the g310r hasn't even hit showroom floors yet so aftermarket companies haven't had a chance to get a hold of one for parts testing and fitting.

What you can do while waiting is checking out the website and social media pages for companies that carry the type of products you're interested getting, for all we know some of them could be showing serious interest in the G310R. At least then we'll find out right away when something comes to market. They might even consult us

Do you think that this bike is geared more towards the Asia or europe market then? As in asia, I rarely ever see the windshield attachment... I guess it's because the weather over there is hot? and maybe since it's getting produced in Asia, they didn't think about it???

I hope the aftermarket would offer it somehow....going to be a tricky one when there's no mounting points.

European market seems to be the type to really like this, even the American market, if you look at the trend going on in the states it's a trend that involves bikes like the G310R, it's the type of bike someone can live with everyday in the current economy. It's quite a sizeable market and that should also be reflected in aftermarket parts and accessories we see

I was initially really in to the black colour, but the blue is definitely really appealing. As for the windshield ... definitely looks like a toughie

Think we can put in wider tires without making modifications? Maybe a half inch-1 inch wider?
