Cool New member

Hi everyone!

I'm a new user to this community..

I'm looking for a starter bike, but couldn't help notice the BMW G310R in the future model posting!

The colors and the sleek design to the bike with a touch of the gold color too! Looks awesome, doesn't it?

Would you recommend this bike for a new rider?

The g310r would definitely make a great starter bike. It's a sub-500cc bike so you won't be overwhelmed with a lot of power and it's supposed to be easy to handle.

BMW is trying to hit a large range of riders so they emphasized the fact that it's easy to ride and the handling is neutral. Also, the seat is low so you should be able to easily flat foot on the bike for balance. Great ergonomics for first time riders.

Thanks EvryDayRide!

Are you a current owner of the BMW series?

I think that's what caught my attention too regarding the great ergonomics. It sounds great for a daily ride bike as well.
I hear it was light in weight which is awesome! As some of the other bikes I tried was a bit on the heavier side.

I can't wait to check out the g310r in person!

You'll have to wait until the end of this year since it's slated to arrive at dealerships in Q4 2016. Any other bikes you're interested in?

That's going to be a long wait!

So far, I've been just eyeing on this one.

Any other recommendations @LiquidCool ?

On the flipside, are tall riders going to be uncomfortable? Will their knees be folded up by their ears?

I'm like imagining that right now and it looks weird...

The heights can't be adjusted?

You can probably get custom seats to adjust the ride height slightly but if you don't fit, you don't fit. You can check your ride height compatibility here: BMW Motorrad : Seat height configurator

I don't think the g310r is on the list yet but once it goes on sale, you can probably find it there.

I guess that means it'll be hard to share bikes with a 5'4 vs 6'2 in height...

I'm 6'1" so I bet that I'm about at the tallest you'd want to be to ride while still being comfortable. 6'2" or 6'3" might be too tall. What do you guys think?
