Old guy new member

After over 50 years of riding. First on dirt bikes in the California desert then a long brake to raise a family I have had a couple of long term road bikes (66 Trumph 500 and 02 Ducati Monster 620) the time has come to get a smaller lighter bike. For a long time I have been interested in small singles and the G 310 seems like the perfect answer. Light, ad aqua teen power for my needs (around town and back road rides). I build a little Honda 100 after I sold the Monster but it wasn't enough bike for my needs. Plan to get mine in the Spring when we return from our winter home.

Your old Honda was a beauty and welcome to the forum! Will the g310r be your first bike after taking a break from riding?

I took a year off after selling the monster with a non riding related tendon injury. In that time I did the Honda. Rode it some last season. The g310r will be my passport to longer rides again. Looking forward to the light weight and good power. I have considered the ktm duke390 because I liked the power to weight ratio but just can't get past the insect like looks and don't want to begin on another modification excursion

That monster looks mighty fine. Welcome to the forums as well. The G310 looks to have a nice riding ergonomic with some good suspension travel, for the longer rides you should definitely be good. Can't promise the modding excursion will leave yah though

Hopefully I can contain myself and start slowly. Adjustable levers, rear rack from gs and kriga rear bag. It could go anywhere from there. With the monster it was always one change at a time that never ended until the day I sold it

I'm also lurking about, thinking of the G310R, been riding for 51 years, ready for a lighter ride. Currently getting ready to sell a year old Indian Scout, too heavy for these old bones now. Also, have a Piaggio BV350 scooter, so think the BMW will be a nice addition to the garage. Last BMW's I rode were R69S and R80 in the '70's. And the price is right, too, if the seat height agrees with me.
