Hello fellow riders!

Hello to anyone who's reading this. I've just signed up to learn more about the BMW 310GS.

Having passed my test on a beautiful summer's week in July 2017, I've been thinking hard about what I want my first motorbike to be.

My research into a bike - which would allow me to ride through-out the year, as well as on and off road capabilities - has been a long affair (this also includes saving the money).

Originally wanting the 310R, I can't stop thinking about the 310GS. The reviews about it's off road abilities are as good as the on road ones. I'm not going to fight it anymore - I'm getting a BMW 310GS!

I look forward to some good reads on here.

Welcome to the forum. The GS is only an inch or so higher seat than the R and does have off road abilities. Here is the south riding season is starting.

Welcome to the forum.
I have had my 2018 G310 GS for a couple days short of one year now. I have put over 17500 miles on it so far, with around 2500 of that off road miles. At 64 years of age it is not only a great starter bike it is a very good seasoned rider bike. It is light, agile and capable of a lot more than most people think. I ride mine almost daily and it can run all day at 70 to 80 mph for 6 to 8 hours without complaining. I have taken mine across the USA and back, on back roads, interstates, freeways, and both dirt and double / single track trails. It is fun to ride and easy on the wallet. Just as an example... I am still on my original tires, brakes, and drive chain. I average around 60mpg ( I beat the **** out this poor thing ) and live in So California where you can ride about 320 days a year.

Have fun and enjoy your new ride.
