Hi from Germany

My name is Ralf, i will have mine in a few days. Just ordered it. I’m 60 and this is probably bike no.20 after 45 years of riding bike. I live in a very beautiful bike area, the Eifel, not doing long distance trips that much so looking more for good handling, weight and reliability. Riding position is super. I have problems with my shoulder so need a certain angle to sit on the bike. My dealer gave me a test bike for a week. Never would try such a small bike without the suggestion to try it. Felt like being 18 again....🙈 with my first bikes in the 70‘s.

Hi Ralf and welcome to the forum. There are quite a few of us older riders on this website who have 'downsized' to the 310R or 310 GS or have it as a second or even third bike Which bike are you getting? the R or the GS?.

2017 BMW G310R
2019 Suzuki DL Vstrom 650

Thank you. I will have the R. It is beside my Vespa GTS 300.

Welcome Ralf. I think you will really like the 310 R. I'm 61, have a 310 R, I'm 61, and the bike is great for me. Handling and light weight are more important to me, not straight line speed

I envy you living so close to the 'Ring. I lived in Bingen am Rhein for years and never got there.

Wilkommen Ralf, from Texas, USA. I exchanged my 1993 BMW K75S for a G310R and am very pleased with the new bike. I'm 74 and the K75 became too heavy for me to handle comfortably. The 310R is much more fun to ride because it is lighter, and has a lower center of gravity. Enjoy your 310R and ride safely.

When I lived in Germany during the 1970s I rode a Suzuki GS450 and it was perfect for the country roads.

Hello. You will love this bike for sure. It's so light and nimble, and easy on fuel as well.

Garage
Ralf, welcome to this forum.
I leave just across the border in the Netherlands and the Eiffel area is our motorcycle playground.
Looking forward to see you there, enjoying the G310.
