First BMW

Hi all, Ian from Telford, UK here. I have just bought a nearly new white G310R. I part ex'd a Yamaha SRX-4 grey import. The Yam had more power but the riding position was getting to me as, at 66, my body isn't quite as supple as it used to be. I too had preconceptions of being underpowered etc etc. I went for a 2 and half hour test ride last week and to be quite honest I really didn't want to give it back. Much discussion with a very friendly and approachable dealer in Wolverhampton has resulted in my first BMW bike ever in over 50 years of riding. It arrives tomorrow May 30th...I can't wait. I love the style, comfort, paintwork and manoeuvrability. As many of us older riders seem to say.....never mind the speed, just enjoy the ride.
Ian 😏

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will love the bike, white is a great colour (my second choice).

Congrats on your new bike. Speed doesn't equal enjoyment for me, and you sound like you feel the same way. I like getting out in the world and experiencing new places. And I'm happier riding my GS in 1st gear through a field than tearing down a straight highway in 6th. It's fast enough.

Nice! Correct color, too. Welcome to the forums, you've found an active and helpful group.

They're really plenty fast and the maneuverability is definitely a big plus. Especially if you like me do lots of city traffic / filtering.
