When I first started riding in LA, last March having moved from Europe, where I rode a 300cc scooter daily, around Geneva, I was a lot more tense than now. I had to get used to the different, less safe, riding conditions. These days, I have noticed I am (fortunately) much more relaxed, although still highly alert whenever there is other traffic around. "Relaxed alertness" describes that state of mind perfectly.
