850 miles and bike transmission blew up

At 850 miles of wonderful riding my bike transmission came apart inside and tore up the inside of the motor.
My dealer looked into the trans and found that the transmission came apart. Was a defect and they are ordering a new motor.

At this point no idea how long a wait it will be for an entire powerplant.

I loved this little bike. It worked so well as a canyon carver.

I changed the oil at 400 miles including filter and checked and tightened the chain.
Was all ready for my mountain trip of riding and it performed flawlessly.
Then it broke down after shifting into 4th gear and locked up at 45 mph.

Thankfully I was able to get it off the highway.

So, I wait.

Think they should give you a new bike.
I would not be happy with anything less.

What the heck? The motor failed. Replace the motor. THere's no need to demand a new bike. You're unreasonable.

If you paid good money for a brand new item (any item) I would expect it to last longer than this,

I have worked at dealers in the past that would have put a case forward for the owner to the manufactures to replace the bike due to the newness and lack of miles covered .

Lets see how long it takes for the bike to be repaired !

I would ask for a replacement not demand.

I've asked for my money back and to just buy me out of the bike.
We'll see.
