Got My G310R Thursday

I got my new G310R Thursday and rode it home from the dealer in Iowa City which is 130 miles. We got the Hepko Becker bags on and a chain oiler. Rode about 30 miles more yesterday and really liking it. I traded an almost 5 month old Honda CB300F in on it which I had a little over 10,000 miles on and didn't get what I would have liked as they said it needed a new tire and chain etc. and had too many miles but don't want more than one bike. My wife has a 300GS ordered so anxious to get that; she has a Honda 300CBR that she will probably trade.

cfaircraft I dont own a G310R as I am waiting on the GS model but the 85mph you talk about is not even close to its max speed. According to almost everyone I have talked with that have topped out their broken in bikes from Europe, Australia, South Africa etc. They all have taken the G310R to around 98 to 102mph or actually 158 to 165kph on the highway with stock configurations ( no mods ). So when your wife get hers broken in I suggest she really see what it will do Before you start thinking of changes.

sorry bud, that may be in those countries but in American MILES PER/HOUR the bike tops out at 88 miles per hour, and I verified it, and that IS what everyone I have spoken with claims as well, so not sure what your seeing or if its in kph, and hope your not expecting the gs to be any better due to body type that style usually a bit slower, which means on US hiways the bike will be cruising near red line which is not a good thing

I’ve seen several YouTube videos now showing the R running at 165 kph (while wringing its neck), which translates to 103 mph.

And at 70 mph, the engine is turning ~7000 rpm in 6th gear, which is still far from redline. My dealer (who has always been a straight arrow) told me he took the first one he got up to 90 mph without breaking a sweat.

WRONG, at 70MPH the bike runs 8300 rpm, which I have done with the bike, the wife has done with the bike, 2 diff dealers verified, BMW MOTORRAD verified, utube videos verified, Even went to dealer and test rode another with same results, so unless u have one AND have actually ridin it and can prove 1st hand pls no more wishfull thinking at just near redline the bike hit 93 mph, which felt like it was rdy to explode, so a little longer legs wouldn't hurt the bike at all as well as a little more torque

Performance. BMW says the G310R it produces 25.1 kW (33.6 bhp) at 9,500 rpm and a torque of 28 Nm (21 lbfft) at 7,500 rpm. BMW claims the top speed is 144 km/h (89 mph).

I have the G310R and I can confirm top speed is 165km/h (roughly 102mph), ~160ish on some slightly inclined roads.
