Question Tank bag or tail pack?

So I'm looking at options to make my 'R a bit more usable, what do other people use?
I'll probably get a rack at some point for my Givi top box, but for the time being I'm looking for something for the everyday bits and pieces and the odd bit of shopping

I bought a Wunderlich tankbag which I use on a day to day basis.
For my weekend trip I also use a top case (hepco&becker) and when I go away for a longer time, I carry a ortlieb canoe bag which is very solid and waterproof on the passenger seat.
With the Wunderlich tankbag I also bought the map part (you can put a map or your cellphone in it).
It suits my needs 😀

I have a Cortec bag on my 310. Its got a bunch or zippered pockets and can hold a decent amount of stuff without lousing up the look of the bike.

Im happy with the OEM tank bag. Expands to 20+ litres to accomodate a good amount of shopping. Additionally has the benefit of taking the wind pressure off your chest at highway speeds.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the replies, Bas310, PaulS and Eccles
The options you've mentioned would certainly work for me too.
We don't get Cortech over here in the UK, but my Brother lives in California and visits several times a year, so choosing something for your side of the Atlantic isn't much of an issue, just a bit of a wait.
I'm looking at some locally supplied options at the moment, when I make a purchase

2017 BMW G310R.
2012 Honda NC700X DCT.
2006 Triumph 900 Scrambler.

I have the BMW tail bag. Dealer wanted way too much $250, I made the deal at purchase for $125. Well built,
very easy to remove (steal) . There are just so many choices out there for tail and tank bags now.
Weatherproof and on sale are your best bets.

I prefer a tank bag with a map case and with a quick look system

Has anybody stateside found a BF31 mounting ring for the R? The tanklock Givi looks like a good answer but every website lists the ring out of stock. If there is another brand with a similar mounting system I am interested.

I have a BMW rear rack with a Cortec tail bag. It holds a good bit of my daily needs and doesn't look too bulky.
