Dealer overinflated rear tire?

My new G310R came with 32.5 psi in the front tire, and 40.5 (instead of 33.5) in the rear.

I'm assuming the dealer just did it wrong. But, maybe there's a reason for over-inflating the rear? Ideas anyone?

They see "GS" and assume 40-42 PSI. They've been doing this for 38 years and the habit is ingrained.

I had the same chat with my dealer (mine came the same way).

I picked my new 310GS yesterday from the dealer and tyres are 30 psi front and 34 psi rear. Manual recommends a lot lower.

For bar to psi conversions:

1 bar = 14.5038 psi

So you slide out and the dealer gets to sell another one on insurance

Auto and motorcycle dealers are notorious for this. Sometimes I wonder if they even own a tire gauge.
