12v aux skt operation
For anyone that has the 12 volt socket added by the dealer (from a blanking point provided on the frame l.h.s. to a junction designated for this purpose on the wiring loom) please bear in mind that power will not be supplied to the socket unless the engine is running. It's not sufficient just to turn the ignition on and this feature has the benefit of not running down the battery if you inadvertently left an accessory plugged in including a USB adapter! Note power to the socket will continue for a short period after the engine has been switched off as part of the time-out feature.
A side effect of this however is that as the bike does not have a CAN bus that can be woken up by pulses from an intelligent tender/charger such as the Optimate, you will need to use crock clips straight onto the battery after taking the seat off with the ignition key. Make sure you get a good connection to the battery terminal posts and confirm that current is flowing from the charger as it's easy to not make proper contact in the tight space around this area.
