Production/ Model Year of G310R

I bought a G310R in the Philippines on September 19, 2019. The sales invoice says I just bought a 2019 G310R model. However, after one month, I noticed a date stamped on the barcode of the key pendant, it says 27/11/18. Am I correct in assuming that this is the actual production date/model year of my bike, that it is actually a 2018 and not a 2019 model, contrary to what the BMW Philippines salespeople placed on the sales invoice?

Welcome to the forum.

Model years and production years can be different. You have a 2019 model built towards the end of 2018. Make sure your insurance company knows this, I've had problems with insurance companies, trying to explain this in the past for cars.

Thanks so much! That saves me a quarrel with the BMW sales people here for an imagined misrepresentation.

Aren't there differences on the look of the 2019 vs 2018 model? Which one did you get?

Only difference would be cosmetic such as color. There is a sticker on the bike that indicates model year and production date. You may have to find model year on emission label that state conformance with the model year.

2018 BMW G310GS White
2017 Hyosung GD250R Black/Gray
2016 KTM RC390
2014 Kawasaki Ninja 300 SE (sold)
2008 Hyosung GT250R (crashed)
199x Kawasaki Ninja 250 (engine failure)

The 2019 model also comes in all black! Just remove the stickers and you'll have a really nice bike
