I just completed the first oil change at 1500 miles since new.
Is it me or the acceleration seems better?

I felt this way only recently before the oil change.

Did you do the run in service prior to this?

Do they use different oil or additives during the run in period?

Less resistance on the piston can make a small difference, this difference can be more pronounced on smaller cc engines.

Please. :) I'm not going to pay BMW $350+ to change the oil and filter.

The oil and filter change at 1500 miles was the first service on this bike.
I used Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic.

****! This 310R is the perfect street computer bike.
1. Looks good
2. Out accelerate most cars

Lol...it won't out accelerate my cars! But I did notice an improvement in overall performance and gas mileage after a couple thousand miles. Over 4,000 miles on my GS now and still loving the little bike.

i wonder why people keep calling motorbikes 'cars'. they are not cars. cars are those things with 4 wheels..., not counting the carts...

and yes, as you break in the bike properly, the piston rings are more sealed so there is usually more power....
