I bought 2022 R.
I removed the battery for the freezing temperatures.
There were two 'brass' coloured 'washers', each with a flat side.
Once a month I put it on a smart charger 'til charged.

I didn't note, so can someone tell me:

1 what is the orientation of the flat side of the brass washer?
2 does the brass washer go directly under the screw, or do the wire leads go directly under the screw?

I was just out at mine doing some work so here’s a pic. Note mine had an sae charge cord installed by dealer so I can not confirm factory orientation but I’d assume the dealer would put back the same way. Either way the brass goes between screw and wire leads. Not sure about the “flat” side of washer. I’d assume both sides were flat. Can’t imagine it would matter much unless one side is coned on which case I’d face that toward battery to pinch wires down so to speak. Automotive tire Motor vehicle Automotive exterior Rim Bumper

Your photos show the flat side, so it's helpful, in that the brass units are not some
'fluke' or something the previous owner did. I know someone whose R does not have these, and his is only one year older. Hence, my question.
Again, thank you.
