BMW’s KTM 390 Adventure fighter has finally debuted at the ongoing EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy.

The much talked about entry-level, small-displacement adventure tourer that’s based on the G 310 R roadster has officially been unveiled. Powering it will be a 313 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with a specially tuned 6-speed manual transmission for adventure riding.

Even though it has less power than the G 650 GS, BMW still describes it as a “genuine GS. It is nimble and agile in city traffic while over light terrain it is supremely robust. This makes it the perfect companion for the adventures of everyday riding.”

And a genuine GS it comes with the lineup's distinctive beak, radiator shrouds, headlamp cowl and the GS tank decals. The BMW G 310 GS even sits higher than its roadster sibling thanks to 41mm front USD forks and 180mm travel monoshock suspension with adjustable preload in the rear. Completing the package is a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, standard dual-channel ABS and luggage carrier.

Like any BMW motorcycle, the G 310 GS will have a large range of optional accessories including heated grips, satellite navigation, 12 volt power sockets, seat height options (820mm and 850mm) and more.

The entry level GS is set to launch by mid-2017 in India and go for around INR 1.3 lakh.

Since it sits higher than the g310r, we're going to need the inseam length before making a decision. If you can recall, cherrie is 5 foot tall and she's on her toes.

There are ways to make lower the seat of a bike to make it fit a variety of riders. I'm more impressed with the rear travel the G 310 GS has. That's around 7 inches, more than adequate for some spirited off road riding.

Making the seat lower shouldn't be an issue, they may even have an accessory for that. Could also just lower the bike itself but you'll be reducing travel and clearance like that.

The height should go down a bit with my body weight, but how much is the question. I do like how far the signal switch is from the horn button. I've accidentally honked someone before.
