Auto.NDTV.com posted a "5 Things you need to know" on the BMW G310 GS. Thought I would share it as people are obviously interested in this. Pretty straight forward information but there may be some things in there that some people don't know.

The G310 GS will probably hit max torque at the low rpm spectrum since it's meant to be a touring and adventure model.

I definitely see them re-tuning it like the article says will probably happen. Just makes more sense to tune it for what it's intended for rather than just swap the engine into it the same way it "sits" in the G310 R. Either that or people will just have to do it themselves when they get them.

Even if they don't. It's not that difficult to get done at your tuner. Squeeze out a bit more power at the same time. Win-Win situation lol

Get some more power and torque happening on the lower end your set since most of us do city riding, so that's where we will really feel the difference.

Exactly.. This isn't a track bike so the higher rpm ranges aren't as important compared to the lower end. We need get off the line and up to speed power, nothing crazy top end for obvious reasons.

Why detune an engine with 313 cc's that is already torquey for its size? They'd have to go thru EPA and Euro emissions testing. Bet the GS is a way to cash in on the Adventure theme

Its basically a well played out chess game. If it was the other way around, how would the G310R sell? Not that great, right? These bikes are cheap enough that an impulse buy is easy. Thankfully patience is on my side.. i'll wait for the GS.
