Exhaust options

Having heard the sound of the new G310R, I must say that I am not that impressed. Does anybody know what aftermarket exhausts will fit the standard exhaust header? I see BMW have not mentioned if there is an akra exhaust available which is a shame...

Not sure about the exhaust since reviewers haven't really gone into detail about it. We probably won't hear more until we're closer to the release date. Expected arrival at dealerships Q3 2016.
I'm sure aftermarket exhausts will be available once the g310r starts arriving in dealerships and akrapovic will design something for it. They already have most if not all of the current BMW models covered.
Does akra come out with underslung exhausts for BMW models?

Not if the bike doesn't already come with a OEM underslung exhaust which the g310r is lacking.
Guess it's harder to change out the entire exhaust system than simply the slip on.

not really... especially if you've bought an exhaust system for that model...
Being a BMW, I'm sure there will be options eventually. Just have to wait for them to come out. Slip ons are always a possibility though.

Thought it was a lot harder to change from an underslung exhaust to one that sticks out? Or was it the other way around...
Not worth it to change from a non underslung exhaust to underslung. You lose a bit of power with the complete exhaust being shortened, reduced ground clearance and probably something else I can't recall.

I can't imagine it being a big drain on power and not much of a concern with a bike being ridden around where most bikes in the G310R's segment gets ridden. Sound and looks are what I imagine being some of the key reasons.
Back on topic, not sure what exhaust will fit the header. Did BMW even release what kind of exhaust they used for the g310r? Can't seem to find it.
Haven't seen that information yet. But not always is information shared consistent. Information supplied to other markets might state this. Unless some internal document we don't have a hold of yet states it.
Is everyone just interested in an underslung exhaust or are there other types that people are excited for? I think it would be cool to have an exhaust that splits into two at the end. Would make it look a little more tanky.

Here are some things that I find cool using the Grom as an example.

It's going to be a pain reworking the exhaust so it runs higher up closer to the seat and probably not worth the cost but I do like the third option. Looks like it may sit a bit under the seat.
would anyone here want a low slung exhaust or just stick to the traditional higher mounted system? Low slungs on this design will look great... on most bikes they do... and of course sound amazing (if you like loud)
under slung does give it a cleaner line be realistically, not going to spend more on an exhaust.
To some people its a major area of concern and quite possibly the only one for them aside from little things like cleaning up the rear with a fender eliminator. And that's exactly where i fall into this.
You did say you're interested in the dual split exhaust but how much are you willing to pay for it?
I wouldn't mind paying into the $1000 range for it. Can't cost much more than that, even if it does, if I like how it sounds and I really want it, i'll get it.
