fork seal on a g310gs

has anyone changed the fork seal on a 2019 g310gs. I see alot ofyoutube videos how tochange them but mine are different.when you remove the capand slide the fork down. there is or lookslike it needs a special tool.I want to fix it myself and not a dealer.the dealer said I needed a compersser to compress the spring to remove the special nut. ca anyone confirm?
