My local dealer is pretty small, so they won't have one on display this weekend. However, after talking with my salesperson, they should be available later this month or early July.

Maybe that will mean smaller markets that come last could get these before 2017 is over. Releasing them early 2017 would be a bit weird.

when they were originally slated / scheduled for release in april 2017, and they alredy have the pre buys sold out, need to stay as close to schedule as planned, a late release in northern markets is not weird for motorcycles due to riding season usually ends by sep, so in practicality the bike will not be ready for use till april 2018 unless it comes with skiis

I'd assume more companies would want to sell as many bikes at the start of the riding season as possible because that is when riders come out of hibernation and start riding or look into getting a new ride. That's generally the time new riders go through the riding course before getting their first bike.

But maybe there will be better g310r deals come September because it's the end of riding season.

I'm a newb to this stuff and I'm not really sure how it goes, but I would think that they would try to get the bikes ready for sale a month or two before riding season.

End of season I can imagine them having deals though as not a lot of people would want to buy when they can't even ride.

BMW does things their own way. Best way to get a "deal" is to roll into the dealer a couple of days before new years with cash in hand. Dead of winter, End of month and end of year all adds up to a decent discount. Don't expect much on a $5000 new-model bike though. BMW has nixed all promotions so far for 2017 model year bikes. It'll take 1-2 years of slow sales to see any major promotions come back.
