I was installing Weiser turn signal upgrades and made the mistake of removing rear turn signal stem bolt. Did not realize it has a nut and a washer inside. What is the minimum I can remove to get to the nut behind the stem housing? Thanks in advance.

here's how I replaced my indicators, this is for an R:

you will need 4 new cable ties before you do this.

1. take off seat and remove side panels (keep the lock cable attached and just place the left side panel on top and out of the way.

2. remove both handles

3. remove the six screws holding on the base portion

4. loosen but do not remove the front two screws holding the base on

5. slide base forwards so that it can be pulled down.

6. snip the cable ties holding the connectors in place (accessible from the top)

7. snip the cable ties holding the cables in place (accessible from the bottom)

8. undo indicators and remove.

9. insert new indicators and connect them, do not over tighten screws! Test to see that they work!

10. secure the cables and connectors with cable ties and trim the ends of the cable ties.

11. slide the base back into position.

12. secure the base with the six screws.

13. tighten front 2 screws on the base.

14 attach side panels

15. attach handles

Thank you very much. Yes that is the shortest possible way. I could have fished out wires without removing the stem. It was a mistake I took that hex bolt. Had to go over all those steps just to get to that nut and the washer,. I just finished the Turn signal upgrade with Weiser Teknik front/rear kit. They look amazing. Working on Denali D2 lights and a sound bomb horn too. :) yes.. I will post pictures after everything is done.
