Hi everyone, I've been finding some great info on this forum for my GS, thanks guys! Have had it about a month and am clocking up the k's, have had to buy some warmer gear as it's heading into winter and I was getting really cold on the bike.
Cheers, Sharyn

Welcome! Ah yes, winter because you're below the equator. It still winter in central Maine, USA, and it's June! Strange year.

Oh, that makes me wonder. Does Santa Claus wear shorts?

Hi NZWestie - just out of Christchurch. Haven't seen anyone else down here on one of these yet... I'm on a red one.

Hello Norwester from the South Island,
Welcometo the forum.
Hope you will enjoy all our threads.

What’s your winter down south like.
We were twice in New Zealand but in your summer (December - January) and did not get a impression on your winterweather.

So I've now clocked up 1000km on my bike, starting to feel more comfortable, but still have a few issues:
- nearly dropped the bike on my first day, stalled in 2nd across the oncoming lane while turning off the main road. Gotta keep those revs up!
- not very good at tight turns, dropped it while practicing the first time (stalled it while feathering the clutch, let the revs drop too far) so kinda nervous of doing it again.
Otherwise darn good fun on the open road, especially enjoying the twisty windy hilly stuff, looking forward to doing some touring come spring. I'll decide then whether to keep the bike or change to something else, thinking maybe CB500. If I keep it then some luggage, centre stand, 12V outlet, maybe bigger screen, and maybe lower it a bit - I'm 5'7 and on tippy toes with the rear cranked right down.
But this is the first bike I've had that comes in the middle ground between light but too slow (GN250, Honda Bros farm version) and too intimidating (old CB400).
