Mornin' all

Sometimes my key will not turn all the way to ignition.
Especially after being in the locked position..
I have tried pushing down the key and turning.
But most times I have to keep trying it until eventually the
key will continue its full turn to the right..
Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks and have a great Sunday!

Does this only happen when the bars were in the locked position? If it was in the locked position I would suggest turning the bars a little one way or the other as this may be the issue.

This happens with the bars unlocked and centered.

What i would try is:
get a small container- the top of a spray can or wd 40.
Spray a tiny amount of wd 40 or very light oil into it.
Get a tooth pick, tilt the top with the oil in and dip the toothpick into the oil.
Transfer it to the ignition plate and let tiny drops seep into the key hole and the barrel.
Put the key in after a few minutes and rotate it back and forwards to 'work in' the oil.
If you use a spry can, it can go all over the place hence the toothpick method.

Never mind.
Turns out I was still pushing the key in after unlocking the bike
and continuing to turn the key to the ignition. I found that I had to
"unpush" the key after unlocking and then the key proceeds smoothly to
the ignition.. Duhhh!

<Embarrassed>

Happened to me a few times as well. Have to remember to let the key 'come up' before turning to the right.

I had the same "problem"
I found out that while turning the key, not to put any pressure on the key (vertically)
Now, being more sensitive, no problems anymore.
Good luck.
