Hi folks. I'm brand new to this forum. My dealer (Vines) has invited me to a test ride on Tuesday 18 April (just after Easter) having put a deposit down for a G310R earlier in the year. Fingers crossed it will be there, as I've been hunting for an actual launch date in the UK for a while.

I put down a deposit for G310r last July 2016 and finally saw my bike at my dealer on Saturday 7th April also waiting to test ride on 18 April which is UK launch date. The dealer confirmed the bike will be ready and I can ride away on the day been a very long wait but after seeing it at the dealer in the white super sport colour well smitten with it!! Hopefully the bikes will be available outside Europe very soon because they look Brillant for the price!!

Big smile on face!
The test drive happened yesterday, on the official UK launch date. The bike is dwarfed when next to a 1200cc GS! It is a very agile and compact machine. All the controls are easy to operate and the engine is willing. It looks like everything is easy to get to in terms of maintenance. I'm taking delivery of my bike on Friday of this week. I've got to say that the 'Launch' was very understated! Pix will follow.

Nice! Looking forward to hearing a full report with pictures. I'm just going to contact my local dealers and see about a test ride on Saturday. Does it have the wonky indicators on each side of the bars like other BMWs?

Definitely still getting yours Blake? If you are, check the bolts for the handlebar clamps... Two separate dealers (Edinburgh and Dundee) have told me they are awaiting replacement bolts before i can take one out on a test ride. Apparently wait time is 4-8weeks.

Not sure, they have been told to replace them from HQ. The guy at Dundee said he took it around the block and it felt ok, but I guess something has happened and they are not allowing test rides until they are replaced.

Rather hoping Blake knows more...

There is nothing uncertain about it. According to snap happys link, and various others. 99 bikes were recalled in Germany. At least some of them had been with their owners for a day or two, before they got the immediate recall notice.
Apparently screws on handlebar? clamps must be changed and the front brake calliper screws be checked.
