Hi Allan,
welcome to the group. You asking for opinions on heated grips. For sure you get a lot and different ones. Here is my wife's and my opinion.
We had on all our previous bikes heated grips. We was happy, but some times the throttle grip annoyed us. It worked not well and would stuck. Also after time the rubber went and the wiring became exposed. Not a big deal, but.......
We switched to the heated hand gloves version. Some people don't like the issue with the wiring. When I expect cold temperatures we guide the wire harness thru the sleeves left and right and the plug is rolled up under the drivers suit. I have a 12 Volt outlet on the battery side. Not interfering while driving. The hand gloves have a 3 inch cord with a plug. The benefit is your hands get warmed up on top and knockles also on the inside. The downside is we carry the gloves in our Tankbag. We use the cloves only when it gets cold. Normal riding we have thinner cloves. Also the earlier mentioned issue with the wiring. I would make the same decision again.
But like I said, everyone has to decide how it works best. The gloves version also works on my ATV and in cold days I use them in my car in the morning. Cheap version compare to steering heating.
Hope it gives you good info and wait for others opinion.
Good riding,
Harald and Christine

Hi Alan,
Welcome to the group. I am over near Loch Lomond and it IS NOT SUNNY!
Unless you intend to ride in the winter, I have not found the need for heated grips. Decent gloves and hand guards have been fine for me and I feel the cold.
Enjoy your bike, maybe bump into you some day.
Bill
