Hi Folks, I new here and trying to do some mods on my 2022 G310GS. I was wondering if there is a rear accessory power socket on the GS like there is on the R? I know of the two up front zip tied to the headlight and found that the R has an additional one in the rear. On my bike, I can’t seem to find the rear one and wondered if there isn’t one on GS like the R. Does anyone know?

On my G310GS (my 2019) I have this accessory power socket in the middle part of the bike on the left side, just near the cylinder.
The socket is strap up with a nylon strap in the harness.
I have this in use, therefore I know this works on GS also, but my bike is a 2019 model, perhaps it dissappear on newer models ?

Take care - Mats

Are you really sure about it Hasselman, because the socket is up in the harness with a plastic tie and it is not easy to see or fell up there, but if you use a mirror or feel with your fingers you probably feel a plastic socket that is tied up there.
2-pin socket.

At present my bike is in a storage behind a lot of snow. I'll check for the connector when it's time for the pre-season service.

Fine !
For a final comment, I check a friend's G310GS from 2021 and there was not any socket on the place there I find mine on the 2019 I have.
Maybee some cost reduction... Unfortinally.

I will also take a look on my 2019. I seem to recall this was brought up before (GS plug near engine) and debunked. I could be wrong.
Here is a few questions for @BmwMats
1. Did you buy the bike new? (Possible that someone added this aftermarket?)
2. Do you also have both behind the headlight? (Possible for some odd reason your bike was routed like the R? It seems that some are saying the R has one where you’re pointing and one behind headlight)
3. If bought new, can you ask the dealer if they installed it? My dealer told me they always just put an sae charging cord on all their bikes which mine has.
Just wondering on these questions to try and help solve this “mystery”

1 - I bought my bike in second hand, but the bike had the third socket already from the factory on the left side of the engine cylinder in the upper part of the electrical harness, strapped with a nylon tie up under tank.
2 - Yes, I have two sockets behind the headlight, and when I mount the heated grips for my hands I had one left not in use.

3 - See first row.

My G310GS from 2019 was in original shape when I bought it and nobody had make some additional works with it, exept a larger windscreen and small engine guards. Nothing with the electrical.
On a G310GS from 2021 that a friend of me had, there is no additional socket on the left side of the bike, as I had on mine.
Think it differ from year to year... ?

Thanks @BmwMats
Well what do you know? The plot thickens. Or maybe not; maybe only a few of us care. But I can definitively confirm @BmwMats is correct. It was a nice enough day and I had some free time so I checked mine. 2019 GS built 4/2019. I found that third socket. I have the two behind the headlight and now this third one. To locate:
1. On left side of bike while sitting on it (not facing it) remove the panel shown in pic 1
2. Look behind the frame just above and beyond the upper rubber mounting hole for the panel as shown in pic 2
3. Locate the main harness there and you will (might depending on model year for those that check) see a thick black zip tie as shown in pic 3. My socket had the wire running from the rear and open end pointing forward.
4. Carefully snip the zip and pull out your new attachment point to use at your pleasure as seen in pic 4. I was gentle but there was enough slack to easily pull to where you can see it in the pic.

pics 5 shows the blank plugged into it.
Happy accessorizing!
