Too bad BMW didn’t provide video support on this launch as I would have liked to see it in action and hear the exhaust note. She did mention that something was too far away fro her female hands. I assume it's the brake levers that are hard to reach and they are not adjustable. I may need to look into aftermarket levers if the same happens to me.

Thankfully aftermarket levers will be in abundance as a lot of people produce them relatively quickly !

The exhaust note may not be anything too special, but the g310r is certainly maneuverable with how easily he was taking on those bends. with a bit of practice, I'm sure a few of us will be carving through the canyons in no time.

That video is perfect ! The exhaust note is pretty darn good, I am going to want it louder, partially for safety reasons and partially because it's just a preference. Love all of the views though.

I'm fairly impressed with the sound from that engine as well. Not your usual thumper rattle. Though at low speed it does still sound like somebody chucked a bucket full of pennies into a clothes dryer. ;-P

I respect your preference, SlickRick, but I'm happy it's not too loud. That whole "loud pipes save lives" meme is fairly easily dismissed when you consider that the exhaust faces backwards, and people in cars generally can't hear you until they have been passed, at which point the sound is just needlessly annoying. I've even had people come up to me in campgrounds thanking me for how quiet the exhaust on my F800GS is. All things being equal, I prefer to make a good impression when dealing with non-riders. And I figure that relying on the sound of my engine to get a driver's attention is a good way to get myself killed. My default expectation is that drivers can't see me nor hear me, and I try to ride accordingly.

I definitely do see your point in that for sure. It's honestly the excuse I tend to use, and probably many others, to justify having loud pipes lol. But you have the right mindset. Forget about trying to get their attention or not. Assume they can't, pay extra attention, and ride accordingly. A lot of times people feel like their entitled as riders but two wheels vs. a big four wheel 2 tonne block... I'd rather not take my chances.

The exhaust sound is better than expected, I thought it would sound similar to a lawn mower. I've been taught to ride defensively and to assume cars can't see me at all so an overly loud exhaust isn't really needed, but that doesn't mean I won't want a decent sound. Stock is fine for me, but I wouldn't say no to a loud horn.
