I have ordered the SW Motech crash bars and have just had a look at the instructions.

Does anyone know the torque settings for the two original left and right engine bolts?

not an official source but certainly does the job !

For the GS I expect we would need to wait for the december 2017 version.

I've been told by the local SW-Motech distributor that it's just now just been confirmed that the crash bars for the R are the same as those for the GS. SW-Motech needed to confirm the 3D imaging that they do of each bike before verifying that the R bars fit the GS.

R&G also claim the same thing for theirs, fyi.

Great, that's now moved on from 'not available' a few weeks ago..will be watching as well.

I was expecting delivery of my engine bars this week.
Just had a phone call to say that they are doing some design modifications to these bars and that delivery is now expected at the end of January.
Probably so that they fit both models....

Well I was wondering about this too.
Because of the different plastics on the GS, I was not so sure the same bars would fit.

well this is odd.
Phone call from
After having told me earlier this week I'd have to wait until end of Jan 2018...
Today they have just received my order from germany sw-motech.
We 'guess' that they are sending out the stock that was made for the 310R
Anyway the delivery to me is booked for next week Mon/Tues.
Will report if/when they arrive ... then I just need my bike back to fit them .!

Santa turned up and out of his sack pulled some SW-Motech crashbars, the first and only set in Oz apparently, and yesterday we fitted them to my GS. It was a pretty quick and easy fit but it was good to have two sets of hands. Had to grind down a cm off the front of the plastic bash plate. Too easy. Once on they felt very solid and just part of the bike.

Fitted and have now passed crash testing:crying: Only damage was a tiny scratch to the exhaust cover, and bent brake lever easily straightened under a car tyre. Thanks Santa!
