I enjoyed my 310GS, but the Colonel is right, I could have done more to make it dirty. But the bent shock bolt was the defining factor. I’ve become addicted to dirt and deepend my distaste for tarmac. The Honda CRF 450rl is a plated dirt bike, not dual sport. Huge difference. I’ll always keep my low rider Van Van as it’s easy to ride and utilitarIan. Two different tools for different jobs. I‘m hoping to parlay my recent increase in bio power into lots of Desert travels practicing “Desert Minimalism” as taught by “Joe Motocross” on ADV rider.
I’ll have to remain a lurker here, too many great folks to hijack threads on.
Here’s my now all red garage. Had to put low rider in front as she’s just rid of the BMW and with a big Death Valley trip coming (no Honda) I can’t let her get all pissy.

Shame that Honda didn't put a decent fuel tank on that bike... (yup it's a 2 gal fuel tank). Good for 100 to 120 miles. (or so)
If I was buying a bike of that 'caliber'... would be KTM 500exc. Add on 4.9 gallon tank.
(Yeah, I already have one.)

Thing is there’s a wide array of tanks for the Elle. I‘m not fond of fire bombs in me kit. I thought on KTM but Honda/BMW/HD dealer 13 miles away and I have a good relationship with them. Even a Honda, these techno daze good dealer relationship & close proximity are important to me. That KTM is the bomb!

The only bike I ever own is the 310, I will keep it until it does not bring man smile to my face. So I hope your new bike does. To short of a life not to be smiling all the time. You been very helpful on this forum, best of luck, and keep enjoying your machines!

I think this is the translation.
"interesting and controversial bike.. I'm talking about the CRF300L.. I had a Chinese replica of it.. off-road, the 310GS will definitely outperform the 310GS in terms of speed and ease of movement + easier!!!! +plus wheel diameter +acoustically more comfortable+high seating position and standing position.. 310 just looks pale here. there are also cons, but in general it is more dear to me than 310GS"
