So, today I decided to add a poor man’s top box. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a name brand product, I chose to cheap out using a DeWalt tool box! And I covered it with stickers to disguise it a bit. I also added a bar mount 12volt cigarette lighter socket with USB port.

How long have you been using it? i mounted a piece of starboard to the rack and then bolted the box on using fender washers and wing nuts. I was thinking I might need some starboard inside to spread the load because the bottom of the box is thin.

this was taken in 2018 when I first fitted the dewalt [top]box to my Bonneville.
Mine is fitted with roofing J bolts.
Been in regular use since - mainly trips to the Isle of Man
