Ultimate Motorcycling was able to test ride the 2017 BMW G 310 R and they've listed 13 facts about the new sub 300cc bike and there's a gallery of pictures. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2016/12/08/2017-bmw-g-310-r-first-ride-test-fast-facts/

I won't be able to lean like that into curves anytime soon, but at least we know the G310R can handle them without anything scraping against the asphalt.

It's never about if the bike take on turns like that without scraping, it's about if you as a rider have the ability, skills and understanding to push it like that.
But some bikes have pegs that do actually sit quite low and out and tend to scrape when you hit a certain degree of lean.
I'm sure experienced riders who wants to downgrade would be interested to know about the scraping.

As for me, it's great to see that ABS comes stock and Ultimate Motorcycling said the brakes are responsive, meaning more predictable stopping power.
The g310r is great for new riders, it feels strong at lower revs and there's still plenty of power left for passing on the highway.
Top speed of 90mph is just enough as well for new riders too

And that's if you even need to be on the highway when its that busy. A lot of new riders I know aim to ride when the highway isn't that busy, getting to work after or before rush hour traffic and leaving before/after. Not as easy to learn while you have a lot of idiots around.
Traffic is a great way to learn clutch control and shifting when appropriate. The tach control is a bit hard to read, but you can probably shift by ear.
