So I was happy to round up a tractive shock for my 310 for a great price used. It was in fantastic shape. It was an adjustable unit but I set it to maximum extension as I didn’t want much lowering. It was an awesome thing. Then the other day I noticed it seemed lower and suddenly my kick stand was too long! How does that happen? Well easy once I got to it. The adjustment threads were gone and shock at lowest setting! Use had just torn the threads from male and female portion of adjuster!
Being as I purchased used, there’s no recourse in warranty. I’ll have to hunt for a large enough tap and helicoil if there’s sufficient meat to repair, not sure there is. Pretty much a “low cost” problem they should have used steel threads for such a stressed part.
Id advise ante up for a different brand of shock, if you’ve not obtained replacements yet. this is the second failure I’ve seen from tractive in poor design/cost cutting. Bargains are not always bargains. They are the lowest priced unit I’ve seen and were exclusive to Rally Raid, these models don’t seem to be available at Tractive dealers. Both failures were being used harder than most folks.
Just never pays to be cheap.

My (late model shock) has a hex-thread limiter on it.
Have to back it out to adjust the shock, the screw it back in to hold the adjustment in place.
Your shock may have been made before they added that feature.

Ahh mine has this great big steel nut that locks the adjustment but on soft aluminum threads.
Does appear to have eaten the treads. Are you talking preload adjustment perchance?
no worries I’ve corrected my issue. Lesson being always buy new.
