BMW helmet, 5 (old) and 6 (new).
Hein Gericke goretex jacket with elbow, shoulder and back protection.
Hein Gericke summer gloves and BMW winter gloves (both with goretex)
BMW trousers (waterproof)
In summer I have a hein gericke jacket that has zippers that can be opened to let the wind go through.
This jacket has also elbow, shoulder en back protectors.
I usually wear thermal underwear when I’m riding and it keeps my body dry.
No-name helmet, standard trousers and shoes, a mountain jacket when it's cold, and teeshirt/short with jet helmet in summer. And yes, almost no protection at all, I know... for 30 years now. In fact I'm quite more armored when I'm mountain biking (the hard way)!
BTW- I have been wearing nice elk skin riding gloves however I recently bought at Orchard Supply Hardware a $15 pair of deer skin work gloves. Very nice, thick, fit well, probably protective and CHEAP...
I don’t know about you all.
When I drive any motorcycle without any proper protection, I don’t feel safe and my driving is ..... SH..
I used to train motorcycle drivers in an advanced safety training course and anybody showing up without any proper protection was not allowed to enter the course (everybody knew upfront we would check the motorcycle gear). Doing a training is always a little bit more risky then riding from a to b and therefore we ‘adviced’ People to wear protection gear.
I was involved in minor accidents (only 3) over the last 35 years and appreciated my gear, giving me the protection I needed and not ending up in hospital.
Remember, 75% of motorcycle accidents are caused by car drivers and nobody can assure you this wil not happen to you !
Arai Axces 3 or Roof Desmo helmet, thermal neck tube or Buffy type tube.
Triumph jacket, the weather determines which one get used, thermal & waterproof, waterproof insulated or insulated & vented.
Triumph Gortex gloves, Triumph summer gloves and Hein Gerick waterproof lined gloves, No name vented mesh gloves.
Triumph 3 layer breathable trousers or two layer waterproof, or armoured jeans when dry and warmer.
Daytona boots either Highway or Journey GTX's, both waterproof, but the Highways are tatty and now over 21 years old!
I mix and match, depending on the ride and weather:
Arai Corsair X helmet
HJC CS-R3 helmet
Joe Rocket Sonic 2.0 leather jacket
Klim Induction mesh jacket
Dainese Ergotour Gore-Tex X-Trafit gloves
Tour Master Airflow mesh gloves
Alpinestars Air Plus v2 XCR Gore-Tex boots
Forcefield Elite chest protector
Forcefield Pro Sub 4 back protector
Bohn armored pants
Spidi Hi-Vis vest
Cycle Gear had the Dainese Zen Evo on sale for Black Friday so I pulled the trigger and got one. I have 2 other leather/textile and a full leather jacket. Neither of them with liners did enough to keep the wind out on cold weather rides. This Dainese is great and I’m loving it.
