Potentiometers are the remote control for my Warm and Safe heated gear set up; I use it to control my Warm and Safe Heated Layer Shirt and Heated Gloves. The receiver and the plug-ins reside under my left side panel - I pop it open (without removing the bolt), pull out the plug-ins, and pop it closed - the receiver stays under the left side panel.@JerryG: I am curious about your setup ... why are there 2 potentiometers near the right mirror? Near the base of the left mirror I see a switch that strangely ressembles the one from the heated grips... correct? Why not mounting this switch inside the dashboard? Last question: which windscreen do you use and with which mounting system for the GPS?
Left mirror switch is my BMW OEM heated grips switch; the mount that came with it puts the switch between the handlebars and my tank bag under where my phone resides - very hard to get to while in motion. I suppose I could have cut a hole in my dash and mounted it there, I never considered that because I like having all my controls on the handlebars. Incidentally, my original BMW OEM heated grips switch failed; it was replaced under the two-year parts warranty, but the service manager at my dealer believes the wires might have been stressed. It comes with lots of wire, so I was very very careful this time to leave plenty of slack at full fork lock both ways.
