Hi,

I am just wondering what type of wrench I need for removing the front and rear wheel.

  • 27 mm for the rear wheel, is that correct?
  • Not sure what the size is for the front wheel...

Any idea?

Thanks!

27mm rear. Correct.

Front: 18mm nut x 16mm hex on the other end of the axle.
Have no idea why they picked 16mm. Pretty non-standard size for motorcycles.
Same thing for the other side.
16mm hex is a very odd size. Most of the front axle 'hex fittings' don't include that !

Can 'get around' using the 16mm hex by using the axle locking nuts.
Tighten the axle up with the locking nuts.
Then release the axle locking nuts and give the front wheel a couple up and down bike motions to let the axle settle in the right position.
Then tighten up the locking nuts.

Many thanks this truly helps!

I am surprised that both 18 mm nut & hex 17 mm are not included in the OEM tool kit supplied with the bike.
Yup. You can get around the hex drive... but the 18mm... you can't ! Weird.

Hex is a 16mm ! Regular tool 'sets' don't have it.
You can buy a 16mm hex by 14mm external on amazon. About $13 or so.
