I have a 2017 BMW 310R that had the Brake Calliper recall carried out in Feb 2021. Unfortunately, only having done low mileage and the bike keeped in a good garage my rear brake calliper is now sticking on when the rear brake get warm. After about 5 minutes when the caliper cool the brake releases I initially thought it may be related to the brake fluid as the line runs close to the exhaust, but after changing the pads and fluid it still have the problem. I have read in the forum that the original callipers were replaced with the same model unit until a new design is released. So should this be a repeat recall. I have purchased a new calliper and it has a new part number. So this seems to confirm a new design. I am in a bit of a dilemma in that I live a two hour drive from a BMW dealer and it's left to me to transport an unsafe bike, so they can check it out, or do I go ahead and replace it locally without any recall notice.
